Frequently asked questions
Helpful answers before you choose support for your home.
What is the difference between a nanny and an au pair?
Nanny roles often involve daily childcare, including care for younger children. Au pair roles often focus on school routines, activities and homework supervision. Titles and duties vary: agree on the children’s ages, responsibilities, hours and required experience with each candidate.
Do au pairs help with homework and tutoring?
Many au pair roles include homework supervision, reading practice and keeping children on schedule. Specialist subject tutoring is a separate skill and should not be assumed. Discuss your children’s learning needs, check relevant experience and agree on whether any tutoring is included.
